Brahmas – Jackalopes Swap Forwards

The Lone Star Brahmas and Odessa Jackalopes made a trade of Forwards Tuesday with Zach Heintz coming to the Brahmas and Vilo Saariluoma going to Odessa.

The Lone Star Brahmas pulled the trigger on a trade Tuesday in an effort to boost offensive output. The Brahmas sent forward Vilho Saariluoma and a draft pick to the Odessa Jackalopes in exchange for forward Zach Heintz.

Saariluoma a native of Helsinki, Finland has recorded 4G-10A in 33 games played this season with Lone Star. Vilho missed nearly the entire month of December with injury which impacted his output. Part of Odessa’s motivation to complete the trade may have been the 3G-4A that Saariluoma scored against the Jackalopes in 10 games played.

Vilho has already NCAA Div-I commitment to Bentley University of Atlantic Hockey for next season where he will once again team up with current Brahma Matt Guerra.

Heintz is a 5’ 9” – 175 pound lefthanded veteran of the NAHL from Grand Rapids, MI. In 151 games played in the league over three seasons he has recorded 35G-64A and 63 penalty minutes. All 151 games played have been in an Odessa Jackalopes jersey so Heintz is quite familiar with the NYTEX Sports Centre and the Shoebox fanbase.

This season is setting on 11G-20A in 39 games played to go along with a +3 rating and 16 penalty minutes. He has recorded 3G-4A against Lone Star this season.

The Brahmas will be on the road in Shreveport for a three game series this weekend. Heintz has accounted for 3G-2A in four games against Shreveport this season.
